Carl's Bio
Carl Facciponte is a lifelong explorer of places, ideas, faith, and the human heart. His writing is shaped as much by jungle rivers and distant coastlines as it is by classrooms, workshops, and quiet moments of reflection.
Carl’s travels have taken him deep into the Amazon rainforest, across Ethiopia, Denmark, Singapore, the Dominican Republic, the Philippines, and even around Cape Horn. Among all these destinations, the Amazon River holds a special place. There, he works alongside indigenous communities on construction projects, navigating the challenge of language barriers with a simple conviction: hearts often speak more clearly than words.
Born in upstate New York, Carl has also lived in Illinois, South Carolina, and California—but he ultimately returned home. He jokes that New York offers all four seasons “free of charge,” sometimes all in the same day, and that if you don’t like the weather, wait twenty minutes... it’ll change.
Carl holds a Master of Science degree in Instructional Technology from the Rochester Institute of Technology, and spent years teaching high school electives, including Photography, Marketing, Personal Finance, Creation vs. Evolution, and Microsoft Office. Teaching remains central to his life. At his home church, he leads training programs and teaches a 10-week eschatology course, exploring biblical prophecy and examining current world events through the lens of God’s unfolding timeline.
Beyond the classroom, Carl is a sought-after speaker who is equally comfortable addressing small groups or large audiences. He has been a featured lecturer at Mid-Atlantic Nuclear Training Group conventions, where he speaks on training design and development for the nuclear power industry.
Family anchors everything he does. Carl is the proud father of two daughters, grandfather to six grandchildren, and great-grandfather to one great-granddaughter...roles he considers among life’s highest callings.
When he isn’t writing, teaching, or traveling, Carl enjoys woodworking, fishing (where the joy lies far more in the stillness than the catch), raising monarch butterflies, ice cream, and target shooting with bows and air-powered rifles. He also has a deep interest in emerging technologies, particularly AI avatar animation, where storytelling, education, and innovation intersect.
Whether crafting fiction, teaching biblical prophecy, or working shoulder-to-shoulder with people in far-flung places, Carl’s work is driven by a single purpose: to understand where we’ve been, where we are, and where we’re ultimately headed—both as individuals and as a world.
